CPL(A) / IR / ME Course for Indian Nationals

THE AIM OF THE COURSE

The aim of this tailored Commercial Pilot License Airplane / Instrument Rating / Multi-Engine course is to facilitate Indian Nationals to successfully complete their flight training and attain their foreign flight license.

PRE-ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A beginner without previous experience in aviation (“ab-initio”) or a student who owns a valid PPL (Private Pilot License) can enroll in the course and shall be at least 18 years of age.

An applicant shall have finished at least secondary school in Mathematics and Physics. 

An applicant for CPL(A) / IR / ME shall hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate issued in accordance with EASA PART MED.

CREDITS FOR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

This is to be obtained from the Authority before the training begins and is not the responsibility of the Academy. For a student who is a holder of PPL(A) issued in accordance with ICAO Annex 1, 50 % of the aircraft hours flown prior to the course will be credited, up to a credit of 40 hours of flying experience, or 45 hours if an airplane night flying qualification has been obtained, of which up to 20 hours must be with an instructor. This credit for the hours flown shall be at the discretion of the Academy and entered into the applicant’s training record.

TRAINING SYLLABI

Training consists of three segments that are interconnected:

  •  Theoretical knowledge instruction up to CPL(A) and IR level including English Level Proficiency
  •  Training on FNPT II Synthetic Training Device
  •  Multi-Engine Training

THEORETICAL TRAINING

The theoretical training program consists of 723 classes (1 class = 45 min.) of instruction conducted at the Academy premises by Theoretical Knowledge Instructors.

TRAINING ON SYNTHETIC TRAINING DEVICE: There is no training on synthetic training devices.

FLIGHT TRAINING: Aircraft training consists of 45 flight hours.

PPL (Private Pilot License) Course

THE AIM OF THE COURSE

The aim of the Private Pilot License (Airplane) PPL(A) course is to train candidate to the level of proficiency necessary to fly safely and efficiently by VFR rules in non-commercial air transportation as a pilot in command or co-pilot.

PRE–ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    • Candidate should be at least 16 years of age in order to enroll into the course.
    • Candidate must have a valid Class 2 or Class 1 medical certificate, issued by Authorized Medical Institution in accordance with EASA PART MED.

Note: For the PPL examination in front of CAD, the candidate must have at least 17 years of age.

CREDITS FOR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

The Academy approves flying hours and theoretical training which are realized in other ATO under these conditions:.

  • The other ATO must operate according to EASA PART FCL and must be certified as EASA compliant ATO by its national CAA
  • Written approval must be obtained from CAD of Serbia.

TRAINING SYLLABI

Training for PPL(A) consists of:

  • Theoretical training (full attendance or distance learning course)
  • Aircraft training

THEORETICAL TRAINING

Theoretical training may be in the form of full attendance or distance learning, depending on the candidate’s choice.

In case of full attendance course, theoretical training program consists of 140 classes (1 class = 45 min) of instruction conducted at the Academy premises by Theoretical Knowledge Instructors. In case of the distance learning course, theoretical training is performed by the student alone, supervised by Theoretical Knowledge Instructors using email and or phone communication. However, there are three obligatory sessions that require candidate’s presence at the Academy’s premises.

TRAINING ON SYNTHETIC TRAINING DEVICE : There is no training on synthetic training devices.

FLIGHT TRAINING : Aircraft training consists of 45 flight hours.

CPL (A) IR (A)

Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating

CPL(A)/IR(A) THE AIM OF THE COURSE

The aim of integrated course for Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating, in further text abbreviated CPL(A)/IR(A), is to train student to the level of proficiency necessary to operate single-pilot, single-engine or single-pilot multi-engine airplane in a commercial air transportation and to prepare the student for obtaining CPL(A) / IR.

PRE–ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A beginner without previous experience In aviation (“ab-initio”) or a student who owns a valid PPL (Private Pilot License) can enroll into the course, and shall be at least 18 years of age.

An applicant shall have finished at least secondary / high school or college and shall provide a written proof of previous education.

An applicant for CPL(A)/IR shall hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate issued in accordance with EASA PART MED. Before being admitted to the course the applicant will take a pre-test in following subjects:

  •  Mathematics
  • Physics
  • English language

Mathematics and Physics knowledge to be shown on multiple choice entry test corresponds to the level which is considered by ATO SMATSA Aviation Academy (in further text: Academy) Theoretical Knowledge instructors to be the minimum for understanding lessons during theoretical part of training. Minimum passing grade in Mathematics and Physics multiple choice pre-test is 75%. Regarding English language entry test, student should demonstrate knowledge equivalent to upper intermediate level of English (B2 Common European Framework of Reference for Languages by Council of Europe).

ATPL (A)

Airline Transport Pilot License (Airplane)

THE AIM OF THE COURSE

The aim of integrated course for Airline Transport Pilot License (Airplane), in further text abbreviated ATPL(A), is to train a student to the level of proficiency necessary to operate multi-pilot, multi-engine airplane as a co-pilot in commercial air transportation, to prepare the student for obtaining CPL(A) with IR and to prepare the student for ATPL(A) theoretical exam in front of Aviation Authorities.

PRE–ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A beginner without previous experience In aviation (“ab-initio”) or a student who owns a valid PPL (Private Pilot License) can enroll into the course, and shall be at least 18 years of age.

An applicant shall have finished at least secondary / high school or college and shall provide a written proof of previous education.

An applicant for CPL(A)/IR shall hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate issued in accordance with EASA PART MED.
